Austin's Olympic Quest
In 2004, Austin began sailing with his father-in-law John Dane and their quest for the Star slot at the 2008 Olympic Games began.
After three intense years of training, filled with amazing wins and humbling defeats, the duo beat out 19 other teams in the US Olympic trials in October in Los Angeles to secure the right to represent the USA in Beijing in August 2008.
The Star has been in the Oylmpics since 1932, making it the oldest and most respected Olympic Class.
The Olympic Regatta will take place in Qingdao, a coastal city 430 miles East of Beijing.
Racing starts on August 9 and runs through August 23, 2008.
